Last night was tough for us and for scrumpy! As soon as we turned the light off at around 11pm he howled for ages but we ignored him as best we could.
We were more worried about what the neighbours were hearing! (however I have now gone next door to apologise but they didn't hear a thing - phew)

I dropped off eventually but at around midnight I heard it again so I went downstairs.
Scrumpy had shredded his puppy pad and there was a huge puddle of mucus from his kennel cough.
I cleared it all up and went back to bed.
His howling started again so a got my slipper and banged it on the floor. He seemed to settle. This was repeated a few more times and then there was peace. He knew we were there and would come back to him. Ahhhhhh.
I got up half an hour early this morning to spend some time with scrumpy before I go to my part time job. He was asleep when I came down to greet him lol. There was good use of his puppy pad but as soon as I started to fuss him he did a big "mr whippy" pile on the floor.
We are a little concerned as we have noticed some blood in his poo so we will have monitor that over the next few hours.
He is snoozing away in the sofa next to me as I type.
Couch potato comes to mind.
More later so do check back.
Continued....
Whilst I was at work, I checked in with Ian to see how Scrumpy was doing. Ian was concerned about the level of blood in Scrumpy's poo, something that we noticed yesterday, so he phoned the Dorset Dog Rescue lady who kindly booked him into their vets - Natterjacks for an afternoon appointment.
So once I was home from work, we took Scrumpy in the car, wrapped in a towel for warmth, and he slept nearly all the way - an hour long journey.
Once there we were seen by a very nice vet who remembered Scrumpy from the time when he was first brought into them for a health check. Scrumpy was given a worming tablet and an antibiotic injection along with a course of tablets that he has to take for the next 7 days to help his digestive system.
We were also advised to get him onto a complete pet food which we totally agree with, so we went for Purina Puppy Sensitive. All I have to do now is to work out how much to give him, so I am going to pop over to their website now to do just that.
Unfortunately I couldn't work it out so I put a shout out on Twitter and my good twitter pal Ian helped me out - Scrumpy should be getting between 60 - 120g per day, so as he's used to 3 meals a day at the moment he'll be getting 40g per day as he needs feeding up a bit.
Scrumpy is currently on the sofa, having a little sleep by Ian's leg.......
Probably more to come later!
Purina feeding guide that confused me
Scrumpy helping with the washing up in the bath as we currently don't have a kitchen sink due to some building works at the house
Scrumpy is bored with puppy pad training!
