This is Scrumpy

This is Truly Scrumptious

or

Scrumpy
(that's the short version)

Here are some pictures taken at his Puppy Foster Home

one of the many Foster Homes

organised by Dorset Dog Rescue

And here he is with his brother - one of his many siblings

Scrumpy is a Pointer / Springer X

And here he is in his new home

Getting all settled in

That bone is nearly as big as him

I think his purple collar is rather dashing!

And here he's already found the warmth of the AGA

And here he's found the comfort of the sofa!

All in less than 24 hours too.

UPDATE

Who needs to buy expensive pet shop toys when the cardboard middle from a Kitchen Roll will do and believe me we will have loads of those as we have gone through one roll today already!

That's not to say that he's been a bad puppy, not at all, he's just had a few near misses with his puppy pads that's all.  At one point he went running towards one, skidded on the wood floor, managed to fold the puppy pad into a concertina and wee'd on that!!  YAY - treat given for making it to the right spot!

We had our neighbours pop in for a bit of puppy love!

They have 2 dogs - lovely Jack Russells, so as soon as Scrumpy is ready he's going to meet them for some Puppy Socialising

Ian and I were thrilled today when this MASSIVE puppy pen arrived via Amazon.co.uk today
We only ordered it yesterday, but I sent a "flutter my eyelashes" type message to the company that sold them asking them to send it ASAP and guess what - they did!!

As it arrived today - it was very easy to put together and is very spacious as you can see.
It's handy for when the door rings or when we need to pop to the loo, when we are eating etc.  If anyone wants the link let me know!

Ian has just gone running after Scrumpy, lifted him on to a puppy pad and is saying "empty".  Scrumpy is looking at Ian as if he is mad - LOL
Oh he did a wee - hooray - a little treat is now in progress
FAB

Scrumpy is all booked in to see the Vets next week - with no less than Vet Alison that took care of our last dog - she's so good, so we wouldn't have wanted anyone else.
He's going to get his 2nd Jab and microchipping.

We have also go our Dog Insurance Quote via Animal Friends, so I think we are all sorted and can all enjoy a few more hours snuggled on the sofa together now!

  1. Aww so glad you now have Scrumpy, he surely has fallen on his feet there & seems to have settled in well, so quick too.
You & Ian will enjoy many years of doggy walks (poop scoop in hand) around the Dorset countryside.

  2. Hi ...who did you get him from...wonder if he is related to our Daisy who we collected on Weds from Donna. She is pointer x springer. She is feeling sorry for herself at present as she came down with kennel cough Saturday. Though as you are probably finding out she is very bright.

  3. Hi Ian, we are so glad we have him too! It's great to rescue a little puppy dog that may have been put down otherwise! We are looking forward to all the dog walks, especially around here! Hambledon Hill here we come (with poop scoop 100%)

Clare - We got him from a lady Bo, who got Scrumpy from Donna as she had to go to Spain (Donna that is) So Daisy must be Scrumpy's Sister!! Scrumpy has Kennel Cough - we are giving him his medicine. It would be lovely to meet up with the dogs for a walk one time if you fancy it!

    1. Hi Claire - yes you are right - they are the spit of each other! Did Daisy have Kennel Cough when you got her and if she did, have you had any meds for her other than children's cough mix? Yes we are looking forward to being off the med & getting jabs too so that we can get out and walking etc. Catch up again soon. Ali x

  5. Hi Ali. As it would happen Daisys cough is really bad today. Hasn t stopped her from eating her stuffed baby grouse/pheasant toy! Toilet training good..though we think she is suffering a bit from separation aniexty as she wets immediately after being put in her pen or being shut in kitchen when we go upstairs. We are working on making the pen a good place to be (lots of treats and sitting with her). She goes quietly all night in it though i m nights at the moment so cue howling and whining when i come in. I m on leave for a couple of weeks monday so going to work on the SA. Though they have had a tough start so to be expected. Just hope we crack it as they will be odd times we are out for four hrs + cos of work. On a plus her poos are better so at least easy to pick up. Though week on chicken and rice probably helped!

    1. Thanks Claire that's really useful to know. I hope what I put about the vets advice today will help you/Daisy also. If it's any consolation we came back from dinner at friends tonight (only 2 hours away) to a bomb site in Scrumpy's play pen however he's now sitting happily on the sofa with us, as though we were never away. I thing the seperation thing will take time. Good to hear poo's are better. Are you giving her "fresh" chicken and rice or a complete food. Scrumpy is on Purina Puppy complete Sensitive and loves it now - solid poos all round!! YAY I am ditching the chappie for sure!!
