Scrumpy's Snotty

We were a little concerned about Scrumpy's cough this morning, so I phoned the vets at Natterjacks.

The Veterinary Nurse assured me that it will get better, now that he's on antibiotics and that he has to finish the course + we can go back to giving him a little cough mixture if we think that will help.

Basically - don't panic
It's like a human having a cold - a snotty cold that is as that's exactly what Scrumpy is today
SNOTTY

We can only hope that it's all coming out of his system now that he is snotty.

The Heartbeat Pillow arrived today and Scrumpy thought it was a new toy at first.

But he soon realised it had a mystery  component

And he fell promptly asleep on it

Here he is pulling his toy grouse apart

Poor Grouse has just lost a leg!

Claire, if you are reading this I would be very interested to know how Daisy is getting along.
Thanks

  1. We are also ditching chapie (it smells bad!) fresh chicken and rice which we are starting to mix with purina puppy. I may be some sensitive stuff to. Daisy has more and more wires coming in on her face. Her ribs are no longer showing now either. Out of curiousity what breed did you say Scrumpy was for insurance. I am more convinced daisy is pointer/springer/something else. Just really because of her long whippy tail. Donna was nt really able to say how old they were or breed. So i struggled with insurance filling out! Hope Scrumpy is sleeping well now. I'll have to try and send you picture of her. Claire x

    1. Hi there Claire, Scrumpy is now 100% on Purina sensitive puppy which is great - I gave hime more and more purina and less and less chappie over several meals and that did it. Scrumpy is still quite smooth haired although there are little whispers but not wirey hairs. His ribs are still showing a little but he is putting on weight. We were told that he's a pointer x springer but when we took him to Natterjacks the vet mentioned Lurcher. We have gone to www.animalfriends.co.uk who insured our last two dogs - they are very good and we can get Scrumpy insured on a superior cover for £22.50 per month with £99 excess and lifetime condition cover so it's very very competitive. Age - we believe him to be about 9 weeks now so we are going with DOB of beginning of August. Scrumpy is still very vocal when being put in his play pen for night times or when we have to do a quick dash from the room, however today we put him in there whilst we were still in the room & he settled quite well after about 10 mins so we will try that again tomorrow. It would be lovely to see some pictures of Daisy. My email is campbellmac44@gmail.com. Ali x
